Jim Besser Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 (edited) I was captivated by Brian Peter's amazing version of this Joplin tune and determined to learn it. I'm still having problems smoothing out some of the choppy spots - I'm guessing a few more than my 30 buttons would really help on this piece to even out difficult passages - and the D part continues to give me heartburn. But it's been a total hoot working it out from his recording. Now to add back in some of the fiddley bits I omitted. Constructive suggestions more than welcome. https://soundcloud.com/concertinist/weeping-willow-bessermp3 Edited April 3, 2017 by Jim Besser
Rod Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Well done Jim. Shall now look forward to the de luxe version.
Brian Peters Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Great job, Jim! When I get back from holiday I'll try to work out which of my extra 9 buttons I use in that tune.
Jim Besser Posted April 7, 2017 Author Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Great job, Jim! When I get back from holiday I'll try to work out which of my extra 9 buttons I use in that tune. I bet the extra buttons are pretty important in the down chromatic run in the D part....on a 30 button box, no alternate fingerings to smooth that out! Edited April 7, 2017 by Jim Besser
