darticus Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) Maybe someone can help with a concern. I bought the red concertina, NO MAKE, that musicians friend sells and now thought I was stepping up to a Hohner D40 that they also sell. The red one was $129 two months ago, increased now, and the D40 is $197 now so I thought there was a difference. They both seem to sound the same but the D40 plays a little easier as if it was broken in. Does anyone know if these are both Hohners? Are they the same instrument except for the wood look on the D40? Thanks Ron http://www.musiciansfriend.com/search?sB=r&Ntt=concertina Edited June 9, 2016 by darticus
JimR Posted June 9, 2016 Posted June 9, 2016 Can you spare double the price of the Hohner? I think most would agree the Concertina Connection base models; The Rochele, Jack/Jackie and Elise, would be a much better choice.

Thanks Ron Will the D40 be sufficient for your needs? To quote myself, "No matter the price, if it doesn't do the job, then you paid too much." You might consider two other options: Wait, and save your money until you can afford something better. Check out the rental policy at The Button Box.

Maybe I should be thinking a 30 button anglo to upgrade to. I will have to save. Ron
