Banding Together At Seale-Hayne 17-19 June 2016

Recommended Posts

Banding Together is a residential weekend for concertina band addicts. We gather in superb surroundings at Discover Hannah's near Newton Abbot where we enjoy excellent facilities.

We have a different guest conductor each year. We are delighted to welcome Adrian Harvey to lead our 2016 weekend.

The course is for advanced concertina players. You need to be a reasonable reader and fluent on your instrument. We aim for a high standard by the end of the weekend. Music is chosen from a wide range of styles and genres and there will be something to tax everyone! However, we always have great enjoyment in the challenge. Last year we played Ravel's Bolero, the year before Vaughan Williams' English Folk Song Suite. Soloists were given an opportunity in an arrangement of My Old Kentucky Home. You can see and hear us on You Tube if you search "Banding Together at Seale-Hayne".

Places are limited and the course is filling up. Please get in touch to book your place without delay.

You can download a booking form by clicking the Book Now button in the banner on our Face Book Page "Banding Together at Seale-Hayne".

You can telephone Colin Sleath on 01179 686860 for general information. You can call Esther Venn on 07778 602885 if you need more information about booking. You can call Claire Wren on 07584 305452 if you want more information about the music or playing levels.

Come and join us! Don't delay ... Do it today!

Highly recommended. We enjoyed last year hugely - hard work but very rewarding. (Unfortunately, an inconsiderate family member has decided to get married that weekend so we can't go this year.) It's a great opportunity to hone your sight-reading skills and enjoy playing some really challenging music in a large ensemble. You get a chance to play baritones/basses. I even got to try a symphonium last year.
