Are Cracks Terminal?

If Bill Crossland is the one selling it, ask him about it. I've found him to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and trustworthy.

My own un-informed guess is that the crack won't cause a problem. Has this been repaired/glued already?

You have miss read the email, this was not worked on by Bill Crossland, it was bought from Marcus Music and has not had any other work done on it, the crack was always evident when it was bought, it does not affect the sound in any way

... looks like its been glued....

A repaired crack in the end of an inexpensive model like this is pretty common, and no big deal.It occurs because they used solid wood for the ends of these and it's inclined to to expand, and contract, causing cracks - and it's why more-expensive concertinas usually have laminated ends, to make them stronger and more stable, and obviate such problems.
