Derrick Posted February 14, 2016 Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) This is a fine sounding and good looking 30 Key C/G Anglo concertina, probably made in the late 1800s. It has just been fully restored by Dave Elliott, including new 6 fold bellows. (I can provide full details of the work done on request.) At some point in its history, the metal support under the wrist straps have been soldered onto the metal end plates, this is shown in one of the photographs. However, they are secure and don't detract from the general appearance. A very fine Anglo player recently played the instrument saying that, although it needed playing in after the restoration, it had 'the sound and feel of a Jeffries'. I have a recording of the concertina being played which could be sent to anyone who is interested. I have included a copy of an old photograph showing the first owner of the instrument, this was found in the original case. Offers over £2,000 Concertina before restoration.
