nkgibbs Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) Dear C.netters, I have just received a 26b Lachenal Anglo that came in a tatty cardboard box with this label on it. It looks very German but has "& Co" included in the design. Any ideas which company this was and where they were based? Neil Edited November 4, 2015 by nkgibbs
Jack Campin Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Fly, Fly & Co if the rebus on the label is to be trusted.
Anglo-Irishman Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 nk, The concertina depicted on the label is definitely German - the button rows are parallel to one of the straight sides. So the rebus should be interpreted as "Fliege, Fliege & Co." Fliege is, in fact a German surname, though I haven't come across it in connection with musical instruments. The term "& Co." used to be current in German company names. Cheers, John
Jack Campin Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Googling for that mostly gets you promos for "Spanische Fliege". Special deal with a "Klitoris Kitzler", whatever that is. Does Beate Uhse sell concertinas?
