Michael Eskin
Anyone else feel like they're returing the carriage on a manual typewriter when using the air button to quickly bring in the bellows at the end of a phrase during a fast tune? Just one of those strange thoughts while playing... Brings back fond memories from my childhood... Stephen Chambers
a manual typewriter Another subject of Wheatstone's inventions. (Though his designs have a tendancy to look more like small keyboard musical instruments !) Edited December 17, 2004 by Stephen Chambers
Stephen Chambers
Anyone else feel like they're returing the carriage on a manual typewriter when using the air button to quickly bring in the bellows at the end of a phrase during a fast tune? Maybe you could get a bell installed, activated by the air button, to complete the effect ? (It has been done ! In the 1870's/'80's it was not uncommon to have bells on the bass end of melodeons, often activated by one of the bass buttons/levers, but I'm sure I have seen one where it was worked by the wind key.)
