On Youtube, a wonderful person has just posted nine clips of an August "Riches of Clare" concert in Feakle featuring Mary MacNamara on concertina along with Geraldine Cotter on keyboard, Eileen O'Brien on fiddle, and Andrew Macnamara on accordion. Need I say more? . . .

OK, here's a tad more. Also recently posted is an August 2015 Youtube clip of Mary MacNamara and Martin Hayes with Dennis Cahill performing at the Tutor's Concert at Feakle Festival.

Need I say more? . . .

You could mention the two Riches of Clare CDs that were made available for free over the years. Some library branches in Clare still have copies of last year's vol 2 sitting around..

Hmmmm, Well, I was on a concertina-goddess track there. But I COULD mention that. Not that I have been able to bag these items myself.

But on the concertina-goddess front, I guess I COULD mention that there are also seven or eight "Riches of Clare" clips up of the wonderful and not-recorded-enough Clare concertina player Yvonne Griffin. Unfortunately, it's in an ensemble with a box tuned to that bombastic Paddy O'Brien/Joe Burke B/C ceili setting with a low reed in the mix that crushes everything in its path, so you can't hear the concertina very well. But still, it comes through that Yvonne Griffin plays with much verve and lift. ((I'm not knocking the box playing---the player is really good. It's that Low-reed tuning, it's a public menace outside of the ceili setting----Regrettably, Yvonne Griffin's "Custys" video clip is ALSO ridden with a powerful box. Perhaps a stealth documentary of this undersung concertina player is in order . . .))

well, I see that the nine "Riches of Clare" clips from the Feakle installment have blossomed up to fourteen! Fourteen Tulla-style swing-a-longs with concertina prominent the whole way . . .

must say, peter, I think of your video clips with kitty hayes to be like a gift of an album or a concert as well . . .

Thank you, that's a nice way of thinking about them.
