malyka Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 Hi Guys Well I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this question or not but, you'll tell me. I've found the Micho Russel's Reel on Henric Norberk site and WOW, what a reel. Any concertina player who plays that reel is sure to please. Does anyone know anything about that reel? Was it Micho's favorite reel or did he wrote it? This is my question. Have a great weekend. Here in New-Brunswick we're having a snow storm all weekend. You're all jealous I know. Take care. Robert
Guest Peter Laban Posted December 11, 2004 Posted December 11, 2004 (edited) Norbeck gives several tunes named Micho Russell's and there are a few more in circulation. It would mean someone heard Micho play them and for want of a better name attached his name to the tunes for identification purposes. It's hard so to comment on the one you learned. He cetainly wouldn't have composed the tune as his only claim to composition was filling in a few missing bars in a tune often known as 'The Hut in the Bog'.
