JimLucas
And here's the link to the existing thread (begun in 2013) on this instrument in the Buy and Sell subforum here on concertina.net. It has several photos.
psmooze
Something that I always wondered about the Mccann's. Why is the layout not symmetrical going up a column e.g. on the right hand side, column 3 you have A,E,A,E and then suddenly B,E,B... What is the rational of changing the layout? Best Wishes, i

Let me refer you to my own explanation of the evolution of the standard Maccann layout.
Spooner
Thank you! I've been struggling with the Duet layout and your thoughtful description has helped me finally visualize the logic. Now all I need is a few hundred hours of practice!
ramonmartinpdx
I'm the guy selling the 81 Maccann duet. I have a 51 key that I'm happy with. It works, I take it out of the box now and then. You can check the discussion on this when I put it up for sale a while back. I live in Portland, Oregon and folks in the general vicinity are welcome to check it out and play it in person. While I would prefer to sell it directly to a fellow concertina player, I've put it up on Ebay to get it more exposure.
Old_Squeezer
Hi R, I'm the guy that met you maybe 3 years ago at the Tionol in Seattle, the one who was struggling with my own 81-B Maccann. My 72-B is an order of magnitude easier to play, but the 81-B has a much richer sound due to the lower notes. I know I don't need another 81-B, but for some odd reason, I'm strangely interested in getting another. Let me know if you aren't able to sell this one. ceemonster
Currently the Button Box also has no less than FOUR large, premium-quality Maccanns, including an Edeophone and Aeolas including an 81 key, a 72 key, and something else . . .
