Hohner Or Scoler

Hi again

I need another advice. I have now a Hohner 20 keys, CG concertina. Not a great one I know. My question is what do you guys know about the Scoler concertina? Same number of keys etc… Would I be upgrading or downgrading? I understand both are cheap, but to learn i think it’s good to buy cheap, and then buy something better. Sorry to bother you with such silly questions, but I need to know. Thanks for your time.

Hi Robert,

 

as far as my experience goes, Scholer concertinas are very nasty buggers , surely no upgrade to Hohner (which are at least well in tune). If you really want to upgrade, try to get some decent old Lachenal or the like - surely more expensive, but ten times more fun to play.
