richclarkson Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Not the best performance I know but I only picked the instrument up for the first time on Thursday so I'm pleased with it! 'Wild Mountain Thyme' on my new Crane Duet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KK3-xZOlM4
Wolf Molkentin Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Well, that's a promising start, Rich - clearly noticeable that you're an experienced musician, I reckon it won't take you too long to relaxedly play your hymns and stuff... Best wishes - Wolf
chas Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 You've found your way round it in no time. Now I see why you took up my challenge so blithely! I look forward to some fine playing. By coincidence, I'm in the middle of inputting some hymns into Musescore, for my village band, which plays for the service every year at Priddy Folk Festival. The hymns are selected by one of my members, CofE minister (retired, sort of) Andrew Stevens, who plays English concertina. This year's selection seem to be largely based on traditional tunes and come from the Iona Community. They include Spirit of God to the tune of Over the Sea to Skye, Will you come and follow me (Oh, the shearing's not for you/Kelvingrove), When God Almighty Came to Earth (Waly Waly/The Water is wide) and Inspired by Love and Anger (Sally Gardens). They'd be good for duet with a little tweaking.
StuartEstell Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Great stuff - as Wolf says, I'm looking forward to hearing your playing develop. I'm sure you'll reach a high standard quickly. And what a nice tone that box has. I bet you're pleased with it.
