Mikefule
It's a bit of a pipe dream: the idea of the simplest Anglo available as a "back to basics" contrast with my Jeffries and Dipper boxes. I'd like to try before I buy, so I'm interested if anyone within reasonable striking distance of Nottingham/Newark has one they may be interested in selling. I have made preliminary enquiries with Barleycorn who currently only have C/Gs in, which may be a bit sqeaky - I'm not sure. Anyone out there who may have one for sale? I'm looking for wooden ends, airtight and in tune, with traditional reeds - so a Lachenal or similar. As I am likely to play it outdoors for the Morris, I imagine steel reeds rather than brass would be a better option. I would also appreciate any advice on the subject. Thanks. Dave Weinstein
My first concertina was a Lachenal G/D 20 button that was tuned from Ab/Eb. I think for a 20 button, you're going to need to find a retuned Ab/Eb to get a G/D.

Mikefule
After much careful thought, I went for CG and picked up a nice little Lachenal with new bellows today. 10% of the price of my last concertina purchase - and of course, the difference is very clear. Fun though, which is why I bought it.
