What's This About Monkeys Anyway?

Oh Stephen,

What a lovely idea.

How about it, Al?

Well, I was just asked by a colleague at coffee, "where's your monkey?" when it was mentioned to him I play concertina. "Why a monkey" says I? "I dunno, just seems to go together" says he. I scratched myself and said ooh-ooh.

Careful, there, Mark. Helen doesn't want to hire you as a concertina player, she wants to hire you as the monkey.

I'm good to go that way too!...Although I've more often been called a baboon and worse when at 6:00 in the a.m. awaking my teenage children for breakfast with a rousing selection of reels on my concertina.

By the way, I have a great green felt vest and my great grandfather's red Shriner's fez. Now if I can just get that tassel spinning while playing...there are the beginnings of an act here!

I Went to the Animal Fair

Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees!

There's another one that's eluding me at the moment. Big band tune from the 30s or 40s.
