New Concertina Day: Wheatstone Maccann

So my Wheatstone 46b Maccann duet finally arrived a week ago and now I am a very happy person :D

This is the concertina I was looking for all this time. I tried English and Anglo in the past but now I know now that the duet system is the right for me.

In my opinion this is the best concertina system to sing with (just my opinion)

I got it form Chris Algar of Barleycorn Concertinas and I had a really good experience dealing with him.

I highly reccomend Chris if you are looking for an expert restored and fair priced concertina.

Isn't that the happiest feeling in the world?

It surely is Mike! :D

Beautiful! The Maccann system is fantastic - I love it. Although be warned - it may not be long before you find yourself lusting after a 67-key one or larger...

Thank you Stuart! I love the system. Some say McCann is not a very logical system but I´m finding it very comfortable to play.

I have already started to look some bigger McCanns but one thing I love of this 46b concertina is the size. A 67b would be a lot more versatile than mine but also bigger and heavier.

cheers!

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Maccann!

"Some say McCann is not a very logical system" - lots of people say that, probably using a QWERTY keyboard very fluently to say it.

You would be able to explore even more wonders with a larger instrument - just don't get rid of the small one if you find it has its uses too.
