DaveM Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Jim, Jody and Tona -- are you guys recording in stereo? I'm hearing more bass in one ear than the other, and it's a nice separation of the melody from accompaniment.

Send me your email address and I'll put you on the list for our periodic squeeze ins, held at my house in Annandale.
tona Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Stereo too with a couple of mics and garage band...
Geoff Wooff Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Hi Tona, nice to here you play Polka de l'Ase last saturday at a Bal.... and yes I also like your light touch on the left hand.... trying to emulate that too! Geoff.
tona Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 By the way thanks Jim for the choice of "polka de l'ase" for this month. I have fun to play it on concertina because I usually play it on a vintage accordion with three medium and a very very strong vibrato!... Here is a very short sample of "french touch" with accordion, banjo, violin and cabrette (french auvergnat pipe) polka de l'ase C.net.mp3 I will try to find a moment to record also a couple of bourrées d'auvergne for the theme of the month "3"..

Thanks for introducing me to this tune. My band The Squeezers are now working on an arrangement of this tune for English and Anglo concertina and melodeon.
adrian brown Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 Here is my playing of White Joak... https://soundcloud.com/jodysconcertina/white-joak This is really great Jody - I like the subtle variations you bring in that never overpower the melody and the whole thing has a beautiful bounce - love it! Adrian
Jody Kruskal Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Thanks Adrian, bounce is my middle name. Greg, a while back you asked me a question. Sorry, I missed it. Yes, I'm playing G/D on this one.
