Steve Wilson
Hope this brings a smile to any who care to take a look. It's an Aussie traditional classic (well, actually composed by someone, can't be bothered to find out who right now). It's here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HejV32Otr6M I've tried to get a bit of rhythm happening on the chorus with my style of bellows technique. Critical comments welcome. Cheers Steve. I've always known it as Pat Horgan's but have seen it called Saint Anthony's as well.
malcolm clapp
actually composed by someone, can't be bothered to find out who right now. Google is your friend!!! Words first published in The Bulletin 1897, submitted by a gentleman named Cecil Poole and titled "When Dad Comes Out Of Gaol". It seems that Poole had some 20+ of his humorous poems and short stories published in The Bulletin around that period, but little seems to be known about him. Nicely done, Steve. Steve Wilson
Thanks Malcolm, I had previously stumbled across a reference to Mr Poole then forgot his name. Since you've googled him up I'll make a point of mentioning him whenever I sing this song. And thanks for the compliments guys.
Wolf Molkentin
Hi Steve, had a repeated listen today to your much entertaining performance. I find your being free for storytelling just splendid, and the rhythm in the chorus is lively and nice, having the listener waiting for it (and even more smiling) during the course of each verse... Really good stuff! Best - Wolf
