Do other people get this?

A Forum topic only shows the clickable entry 'Go to first unread entry' (or something like that), when there are more than one web page of replies, and then rather than going to the first unread entry, it always goes to the last entry.

I couldn't reproduce it here, but tried it with another forum I read which is powered by the same Invision software and had the same thing happen. Funny, I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out.

I've always been suspicious of the 'Go to first unread entry' function. The software doesn't know what you've read and haven't read. It only knows when the last time you logged on was and what has been posted since. Often it updates the "last logged on" time during a session so that you lose posts you haven seen yet. It makes it very frustrating to try to be certain that you have seen all the new posts.

My "wish list" would include a simple button with "show me all posts since" an arbitrarily assignable date and time.

This seems to relate to an earlier post I made on line dropping. When my line was dropped during a logged in session, on reconnecting, the flags showing last unread had been cleared, ie the system assumed this was a new connection and flagged as unread only items since my last connection. But otherwise, on clicking on the arrow symbol, I was taken to the top of the unread posts in that thread. Sorry if that is not the same point you were mentioning.

Yes, I think we're talking about the same thing. There was no way to see the new posts since the previous (unaborted) connection, only since the aborted one. I find this happens even during a continuous connection if I post a message. I soon find that clicking on the little blue squares cues me up to messages that have been posted since my present one (if any) or to the last post in a thread (if not). It even sometimes happens without my posting. The system just decides to update the time of my last connection to the present.
