Thanks for the hints on the chording :) Here is my first attempt at recording... Please don't laugh, it's EXCEEDINGLY slow... But, as of last Saturday morning, I had never even touched a concertina, so I'm pretty proud of myself!! There's a couple of mistakes, and one brain cramp where I lost my mind for a half second... but all in all, not too bad for a first attempt I don't think... I'm planning to get it up to speed before the end of the month, and I think it will be fun to come back and listen to the first attempt :)

One week on concertina? That's really impressive.

Nothing to laugh about in any way, and you're very likely to proceed further on in a little while... I'm glad that the hints appear to have been of some help! And as to speed, I might slow it a bit down myself... :D

Indeed the second part doesn't work well with treble, sounds a bit chaotic - but the third part is great and gives an idea of what you had in mind for the second part. Hope you'll find a baritone and play a trio, can't wait to hear it happen :)

Hi Chas!

Albeit I'm very much focussed on that one person, one concertina, happening live thing myself, I must admit that I realy like the third section too!

Best wishes - Wolf

Perfect as always :)

Oh... not perfect in my ears, but merely acceptable. After 30 takes I gave up and went with the best of the bunch. I can play the tune, but when you add in the visuals... what with the eye rolling and sighing, grimacing, expletives and such... well I almost threw in the towel in trying to make this video.

Here's mine on youtube. I made it with an I-Pad.

I tried to use standard harmony but also pedal of A and sometimes three in two rythm...

I made a simultaneous recording with a couple of studio mics but when I put the sound of this recording on the I-Pad video, I don't know if it is because of a problem of synchronization but it looks like play-back... So I prefered let the sound of I-Pad for the video and for those who want to listen the "studio" recording here is the soundcloud link. it is exactly the same take.

All of it is great, but the last part is simply stunning. You're setting the highest standards in playing duets, as always.

Love the variations and the use of drones. A very accomplished version that makes great use of your unique instrument.

Great left hand work: combination of chords and drones; that great run down last time through; and how do you maintain the tune with your right hand while playing a different rhythm with your left? Lovely playing.

wow thank you to all ! :)

However I think that tempo is sometimes a bit pressed because my brain was too busy with left hand...

(See you now on "theme of the month!..)

Jody, a question.

In the second measure, A part: the fingering on the F-E-D run is tricky on a GD/Jeffries.

I can't really see in your video: do you use the same finger to go from the F to the E on the middle row, just sort of sliding down, or do you drop down to the E on the bottom row using a different finger? I always assume that hitting consecutive notes with the same finger is bad form, but often find that difficult to put into practice.

Playing Zelda in Am on the G/D works great for me except for that awkward run.
