Dan Stener
Hello, I am seeking an English system extended treble for the reeds and frames it can provide to a new piccolo English concertina. If usable, the buttons and finger rests will be incorporated into the new piccolo, but only the reeds and frames on the extended need be in usable condition as everything else on the piccolo can be newly crafted. I will appreciate all offers and referrals. Be Well, Dan
Theo
Dan I have a complete set of brass reeds for a 56 key aeola. At present they are stored in the reedpans. Condition appears excellent. I have no other parts of the concertina so someone who could build a new instrument round them would be able to make good use of them. Contact me by email if you would like to discuss this further. JimLucas
Dan, I'm curious about your plans. E.g., what layout. A standard, 48-button piccolo goes higher than an etended treble. And what do you plan to do with the lower reeds, the ones you don't use in the piccolo?
Dan Stener
Hello Jim, My plan is for a 42-button standard English system configuration from the F below-middel-C (left hand) to the E two octaves above middle C (left hand). The reeds, however, will be one octave higher in each location thus produncing a smaller instrument that will ideally serve as a wonderful little traveling companion while providing all of the notes (albeit an octave higher) that I typically use in my general playing. Elevated consistentcy in a smaller package, I hope. Thanks for asking. I welcome your observations, analysis, comments, and suggesitons. Be Well, Dan P.S.: Theo, Thank you for your reply. I've sent you an e-mail as requested.
