John Adey
Saw them last time they were down in the South West and they're well worth catching if you can. Frances is an impressive player of her Aeola tenor-treble both when accompanying Clare, either singing or fiddle playing, and when she takes up the melody line. Her concertina is an interesting instrument too, with 12 fold bellows, which was how it was when she acquired it.
alex_holden
Juliet and I had a lovely time at the opening gig of the Blyde Lasses' mini-tour last night. Cracking set of Shetland tunes and songs, and a lively and talented acoustic performance. Nice EC too. It's well worth travelling to see them this weekend if you can. Thank you Claire and Frances! P.S. if you can't make it to one of the gigs, they have a CD.
