What Have I Done . . .

Recommended Posts

About 3 years ago I sold my concertina  BIG MISTAKE! I had a Norman G/D. #504 to be exact. Had purchased it second hand here. Now I have time, my Morris side needs a musician and my hands are lonely!

So, I am looking for a G/D concertina. One with accordion reeds, in the not-astronomical price range. Jeffries layout would be a plus.

Any leads will win you points in Concertina Heaven!

Rusty Bits, I have your #504 Norman G/D. Purchased in March 2011 from Lisa W. I have kept in perfect condition. If you are interested in regaining ownership, we could work that out. Bill Bartgen

How about that! Lisa bought it from me. (I had it new from Andrew.) I sometimes miss it too! Trying to stick to English these days.

I love this kind of logic puzzle. That means Lisa must be RustyBits. Do I get a prize?

I got it from Agnes
She got it from Jim
We all agree it must have been
Louise who gave it to him

Now she got it from Harry
Who got it from Marie
And ev'rybody knows that Marie
Got it from me...

I started listening to Tom Lehrer when I was but a mere stripling, and it took me a long time to work out what this song was about.

It's about concertinas, isn't it? I was reminded of the same song by this thread.

And here I thought it was about that Christmas gift that nobody wants to keep.

And they all lived happily ever after! Especially Me! Bill did a fine job of babysitting my concertina for 3 years and it will be back in my hands very soon!

My favorite Tom Lehrer line is when he sang (in 1964!):

Hollywood's often tried to mix

Show Business with Politics

From Helen Gahagan

To... Ronald Reagan???
