Anglo Enthusiast Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Here's one I hadn't seen before… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMc8vovQLwM Wonderful and freshly unorthodox. Thanks for posting.
Dan Worrall Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 That is a bit like Zulu and Xhosa squashbox playing, where the repeating rhythm and chords are the thing, not the melody...useful in long treks across the veld. Not my cup of tea, but interesting.
Geoff Wooff Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Am I the only one who thought it was dreadful? I'd seriously doubt it!
JimLucas Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Am I the only one who thought it was dreadful? Probably not. As for myself, I can appreciate that he isn't just randomly pushing buttons but appears to know what sounds he wants and how to get them, even if those aren't among the sounds I'd normally choose to listen to.
Alan Day Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 What a shame my sound system is playing up and I could not hear him playing. Watching him however it did not look very spectacular. Reminded me of a Folk club act that I saw once where the guitarist played two chords for about three minutes ,which got a polite round of applause and I had to refrain myself from slapping him round the face for taking the P***. Chris Drinkwater Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Well, his performance was good enough to for him to be awarded third prize, so he must have impressed someone with his act. I was impressed by the number of bellow folds on his concertina, though. Chris
JimLucas Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I was impressed by the number of bellow folds on his concertina, though. Maybe he's been studying origami?
David Barnert Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Reminds me a little of this guy that Jody pointed out last week.
