Greg Jowaisas Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 (edited) I have reconditioned a couple of Wheatstone anglo concertinas for Ben Otto and they are playing nicely and ready for sale. One is a 1930 Wheatstone #32535. It is in the key of C#/G#. Metal ends (to the edge of the action box), rivet action and with a decent 8-fold bellows. The hand bars and buttons are not original. It plays nicely and has decent volume with a mellowness that is usually found with its mahogany button board. $4000 USD +shipping Ben's other concertina is a 1937 Wheatstone Linota serial #34936. It also has metal ends to the edge of the action box and has the later Wheatstone saddle action. the bellows are probably the original Wheatsone 6-fold. This instrument has a maple (English sycamore) sound board and a healthy volume with the sweetness I associate with a classic Linota. The action is light, the reeds are responsive and the instrument is a joy to play. There is some wear to the nickel plating. $5500 USD +shipping I should add that both instruments are presently in the U.S. and for potential U.S. buyers that could translate into a hundred dollars or more in savings regarding shipping and customs charges. I'll be sending these instruments back to Ben in Canada later this month. You can personal message me or email me: gjowaisas (type in "@") twc.com Greg Edited December 5, 2013 by Greg Jowaisas
