There is a new book being released this month regarding the music of west Clare. Barry Taylor is the author, and I suspect tho will be available soon.

I am awaiting the release, and imagine it will be for sale on the shop section of the Oidreacht an Chláir, and imagine many references to concertina playing in the region. I enjoyed reading the book by Bríd Talty last year about her father Martin. It had reference to many concertina players of the Miltown Malbay area over the last 100 years.

I don't know, I probably should have said a bit more about the book but I was knackered after the launch (we had been walking around Loop Head during the day and at the launch I sat in playing for a few sets, with Barry, a guitar player and a very enthusiastic accordeonplayer and drummer).

 

It's a great read anyway, if you're interested in that sort of thing.
