Greg Jowaisas Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) Gorgeous little instrument that came to me when Bob Tedrow cleaned out a closet years ago. I've refinished the ends with orange shellac and final coats of tung oil. The bellows were carefully restored to save the gold stamping. (Alas, the original papers could not be saved.) One side of the fret work had veneer checking and there are some vestiges but all in all quite a pleasing appearance. The nicest surprise for me was the quality of the brass reeds. They are much better than the average Lachenal and rival some of the earlier Wheatstones in response. I've been able to set up the action with a very light touch. The concertina has that wonderful tone you hope to get from good brass reeds. It is not a loud instrument but stays responsive throughout its dynamic range. New pads, valves and necessary replacements. In tune and ready to play. $1000. USD + shipping You can contact me through a personal message or email: gjowaisas(type @)twc.com Greg Edited November 17, 2013 by Greg Jowaisas
