Robert Fisher
Haste to the Wedding Nice light touch. Clean and clear. Worth more than one listen. You've inspired me to record another version... My last one was slow and ponderous as I tried to get my fingers around the harmonies. This one is much more upbeat - probably more like it is meant to sound: https://soundcloud.com/7wheels-1/httw2 Robert (less yack more action) Fisher

Chris Drinkwater
At last, and better late than never, here's my take on the tune. It's a "no frills" version, similar to what I play for North West morris. http://soundcloud.com/aeolaman/haste-to-the-wedding/s-DzToS Chris

I could almost see the dancing with this one... but then I guess that you could "see" it as you were playing. And by posting later in the month you prompted me to go back and listen to some of the others again. I wasn't super keen when this tune was chosen, but it has certainly grown on me. Chris Drinkwater
Thanks for the kind comments. I love jigs and this tune is one of my favourites, along with Seven Stars and Tars of the Victory. I am very fond of tunes that are jolly and bouncey and this one fits those parameters nicely. I particularly enjoyed your version and interpretation of the tune, Robert. Very nice. Chris Edited November 28, 2013 by Chris Drinkwater
felix castro
Hello, hoping to add my small contribution finally I recorded yesterday in a hurry way a version of "Haste to the wedding" for the group, played with my suttner A4 anglo concertina in C/G. My version isn't very original and was recorded with my photo camera as I hadn't with me this week my videocamera. The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSTbJH0xT0A Also I recorded a new version of Hop and Skip with anglo concertina with "rumba" rythm, although not very typical from northwest Spain, rumbas are played all over Spain, even in bagpipes in Galicia. Surely it shall be fun for Mr. Jody Kruskal A famous tune with rumba rythm is the famous Macarena by "Los del Río". Regards Félix Castro
