Wolf Molkentin Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Anyone else (other than Valmai who will surely show up...) this year? We are already here, having made it that early for a wonderful pre-festival Carthy/Swarbrick evening which had to be canceled last year and now actually happened at the Royal Oak! Looking forward to - among others - hearing Iris Bishop again, and perhaps meet some fellow concertinists... Lewes Folk Festival 2012 was truly great, and will be just as well this year! Best wishes to everyone - Wolf
John Wild Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Kettle Bridge Clogs will be dancing at Lewes on Saturday 12th October. We will be at various locations during the day. We have 2 concertinas in the band along with 2 accordions & a melodeon (or 2) perhaps I'll see you there. John
Tony Elphick Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I'll be playing my anglo for Broadwood Morris during the day, and of course the excellent John Watcham is likely to be there with Brighton Morris.
Pete Dunk Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 I may have to wander over, Lewes is less than an hour away for me and I've yet to see Kettle Bridge dance.
Wolf Molkentin Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) Sorry for the late reply, had been cut off from the internet for a while unfortunately. So it's three Morris men then... Since I have planned to see some sites on Saturday this time we might get in touch there... Guess I will be around at least for the first two hours; let's see... Best wishes - Wolf Edited October 10, 2013 by blue eyed sailor
Tony Elphick Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Sadly I can now no longer be there, but do listen to Dan Dewdney playing anglo for Broadwood Morris. A really fine young player.

Wolf Molkentin Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 Thank you for the information, John! I seem to recall that in 2012 the weather hadn't been that friendly on the Saturday; as to this year BBC are saying that the worst is to come in today and might be already gone on Saturday - let's hope so! Guess I'll be present at the first round. Best wishes - Wolf
michael sam wild Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 Sadly we can't get down this Autumn as we are moving house and I can't drive because of the eye operation All he best!
Wolf Molkentin Posted October 13, 2013 Author Posted October 13, 2013 Thank you Michael! - It's a pity that you weren't able to make it this year - best wishes for the relocation and your recovery! After all John and I met ('twas nice, John; thank you!) and I can count myself as a fan of Kettle Bridge Clogs now... Rottingdean's Copper Family, Andy Irvine, Martyn Wyndham-Read, Irish Bishop (among many others) and nonpareil Shirley Collins - a great week to live on for a year...!
John Wild Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Good to meet you Wolf. Kettle Bridge Clogs had a good day. And the weather was good - a total contrast to Friday and today (Sunday). the evening concert with Martyn Wyndham Read and Iris Bishop was excellent, with a good selection of support acts. I got home at 12:45am and naturally was late for band practice this morning. - John
