We are already here, having made it that early for a wonderful pre-festival Carthy/Swarbrick evening which had to be canceled last year and now actually happened at the Royal Oak! Looking forward to - among others - hearing Iris Bishop again, and perhaps meet some fellow concertinists... Lewes Folk Festival 2012 was truly great, and will be just as well this year! I seem to recall that in 2012 the weather hadn't been that friendly on the Saturday; as to this year BBC are saying that the worst is to come in today and might be already gone on Saturday - let's hope so! Rottingdean's Copper Family, Andy Irvine, Martyn Wyndham-Read, Irish Bishop (among many others) and nonpareil Shirley Collins - a great week to live on for a year...! And the weather was good - a total contrast to Friday and today (Sunday). the evening concert with Martyn Wyndham Read and Iris Bishop was excellent, with a good selection of support acts.
