Waiting for my flight home in the morning. A great inaugural event. Now obvious hitches except Ireland lost to England in rugby. Not always the best timing for Morris tunes or orange marches if you get my drift. I am certain things went above expectation, and this should become an annual event. What a great feeling all weekend in Miltown Malbay. The pubs and restaurants were wonderful, not the normal insanity and impossibility of getting into a session. I m ready to book again, and will hopefully find time to write more. Thanks to Aine and Tim for all the hard work, and to Dan Worralnand Stephen Chambers for rounding things out with superb lectures. Time for my last pint in Clare, slàn anois.

Yes it was a pleasant break in the low part of the year, just before Lent kicks in.

 

I always have my doubts about 'session trails' during festivals (I can see the point from pub and organisation perspective though). I stuck my head in the door in a few places where the booked musicians were playing away to an empty room eg Patsy Lewis and three friends in the Central that had a bit of a lonesome atmosphere around them.
