I started to abc the first tune from this book and realised it would take an incredibly long time! Here's a link to the scans of the front cover and all 24 pages, the back cover is missing. If anyone would like a particular piece transcribing to abc post a request in this thread and I'll do my best to oblige.

Selected Favourite Melodies for the English Concertina Olio arranged by Carl Liebe

Enjoy, (and do let me know that the link works (or not) please!) :D

Edit: the link above now works but this gives you a slideshow of the whole book !!

Here's a PDF of the whole book

Before I set off to have a few hours playing concertina with a large group of players I have yet to meet (Yippee!) I'll leave you with links to get you to the first few pages - I have a feeling that if you edit the link to the next page number up to 24 you'll get to see them all.

Yes, they are working now - up to 24, as you suggested - but page #9 is missing.

Thank you again for sharing...!

What's the 'olio' bit mean?

(am I being dense? Is it obvious?)

A varied mixture. See here, especially definition 4.

Thanks for that Jim; not sure definition 5 might not be closer.

"5. Theater .

a.
a specialty act performed downstage while the upstage set is changed.
b.
a performance, as a musical number, presented between scenes or acts.
c.
drop scene ( def 1 ) .
d.
a program of variety acts, especially the second half of a minstrel show. "
I haven't seen if the music fits! What a strange word.

Sorry to be such a ludite, but how do I get the rest of the pages?

You may, as suggested bei Pete, edit the links, i.e.: copy them to a text editor and change the page number -

or, as I did, change the page number directly at the end of your browser's command line...

I suggest you'll start with the second link as it includes the first page number.

Or even use a spreadsheet to generate the whole series quickly.
