moonsagotunes Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Some time ago, maybe a year or more now, someone shared a beautiful recording of their playing (on concertina -- English, I believe) Debussy's 'Afternoon Of A Faun.' I saved the file because I really liked it -- but never noticed there was no permanent tag re who was playing. I did know the name before, so if I see it again I'll remember. Who? Do you know? If need be, I'll share the file, but my guess is that it's a simple question. Thanks!
Greg Jowaisas Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 (edited) I'm thinking it was Dirge on his McCann duet. http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=12393&hl=debussy http://www.concertina.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11119&hl=debussy Greg (Found by entering "Debussy" in the advanced search engine) Edited January 25, 2013 by Greg Jowaisas
Dirge Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I'm thinking it was Dirge too. .. (on concertina -- English, I believe). How dare you Madam!
moonsagotunes Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Aha! And so it was. Thank you for setting me straight. I'm not sure why I didn't say something in the previous thread, but anyway it certainly great. How dare I? Well now if I were stealing, I would at least be smart enough to never bother to ask who posted the file. : -) Now that I've listened again I do hear that that's definitely sounding like a duet and not an English. Will mention here that if I can post this reply I'll be happy as I seem to be having some difficulty using my phone to post in the forum EDIT ADDED: Oops sorry I see I misunderstood the 'how dare I' -- I didn't take a close look at the quote re English. Have felt a little under the weather today. Edited January 27, 2013 by bellowbelle

moonsagotunes Posted January 29, 2013 Author Posted January 29, 2013 ………Hope you're feeling better! Thanks. I'm hang'in there. Not always easy to do in the winter, so maybe I'll dig out some songs about summer!
JimLucas Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 ...maybe I'll dig out some songs about summer! Not really about summer, but that made me think of Irving Berlin's " ".
moonsagotunes Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 Whew! Sitting here listening to this as the sweat pours off me (...okay, none of those 'hot flash' jokes, ha ha ) When we did have a heat wave last June, though, I did not actually do the can-can. I may have returned some cans to the store, after I sat on my can and drank a few beers . (Heat waves, one of the few times I like beer.) Took me a while to get to play this video because it wasn't enabled for mobile. Got to the computer tonight... now off again. ...maybe I'll dig out some songs about summer! Not really about summer, but that made me think of Irving Berlin's " ".
