Having bought "my" Excelsior in 2011 at quite a dear price, I recently had to notice a flock of rather inexpensively purchasable (mainly older) sisters of "her".

And now... the appearance of the "NONPAREIL" - the queen of the elder Lachenal ECs.

Would certainly be a bargain at the starting price. Were I not already obliged to my Excelsior... :)

Nothing stopping you from having two ? :)

If not a jealous concertina, the economic state I'm in would do so... :)

(and seriously, that second one would have to be a TT then, I guess)

BTW: Happy new year to you and all the rest of the concertina community!

(and further recovery to you in particular!)

I thought it would have been a snip at the starting price too - but no takers! Maybe no one has any cash left after the Christmas binge?

Although these amboyna Nonpareils are rare, by coincidence I have one in the queue for restoration at the moment (not that it needs very much). Mine is perhaps just half a step further up the ladder than Chris's, in that it has not only the engraved gilt fittings, but also glass buttons. It's a lovely thing, but in view of Chris's result I think I'll send it to the back of the queue and offer it later in the year!
