Southeast Tionól

Recommended Posts

We are solidifying our tutor list, and already have two world class uilleann pipe teachers, and a fiddle teacher selected. We have our concertina list narrowed down, but need a little input from the forum. We would like a feel of people attending the weekend, before we make our final announcements. This event is privately funded, with no financial help from grants. We have used a format such as Friday night check in, and tunes ( session) followed by a full day of class on Saturday, recital of instructors on Saturday night and Class a half day on Sunday. All of these are included in the registration fee. We have been very fortunate to have great teachers for concertina in past years including Paul Groff, Tim Collins, and Florence Fahy. We would like to invite a teacher from Ireland this year if budget allows. So, the dates for the South East Tionól in 2013 will be February 22-24th and it will be in sunny Orlando. Yes, pipes and fiddle will be represented, too, so if you have friends and family that play these instruments, please encourage them to consider attending the workshops. Please feel free to send me a PM with any detailed questions you wish to have off line. We estimate the fee for concertina to be 150 dollars unless we get more that 12 to sign up. If so, a possible reduction in fees could apply.
