michael sam wild Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 This probably applies to most tricky trad tunes. In Irish tunes I find it fascinating how the twist in the penultimate bars , usually in the B part is often so tricky and brings the tunes to a nice resolution. Once you've wrestled with it and grasped it it comes more easily but can drive you mad. It's like following the foliate illustration in 'celtic' manuscript illustration or unravelling a knotted ball of yarn. How many tune titles allude to this mental exercise?
