Lida Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 I ordered a new Stagi 15 LN over the internet from an accordian discount place ( I know.......risky, but I just can't afford right now to buy from a place like the Button Box). Well, it sounds and works just great, a real treat after my Chinese box, except for one reed (the D on the left side). There is a little hesitation and sucking air sound before it plays. It is enough to slow me down and I was just starting to pick up some speed. I would just send it back for another one but am thinking the next one will surely have one off too, or worse, more. Okay, finally the question, is this something that I could fix myself? I opened my other box to fix stuck buttons all the time, but this sounds like a reed problem? Also, is this a common problem with Stagi's? Oh, rats! I have really fallen for this instrument and this is so frustrating. I had really been looking forward to one that 'worked' and sounded nicer. Thanks for any advice.
Aquarussell Posted September 9, 2004 Posted September 9, 2004 I have never done this fix, though my Jackie needs it now. It seems to have developed a slow valve on the push. I have advice from the Concertina Connection (the place where I bought it) and I will go in and fix it this weekend. I will tell you how it went after. Russell Hedges "Aquarussell"
