Guest HallelujahAl! Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Hi Folks, have come into possession of this 35 key Lachenal Tenor, number: 49520. It's a New Model with ebony raised ends, and steel reeded. It's a wee bit different to anything that I've really come across before. I'd be fascinated to learn more about it...what period it is etc. Anyone able to help please? Best Regards, AL

Best Regards, AL Hi Al - nice looking 'tina. I have one similar to this - 35K baritone - not new model tho. - s/n 50020 These instruments were probably intended for band use, possibly by marching bands, having fewer and essential buttons to keep the weight down. The position of the buttons and thrumbstraps forward of the usual position gives the instrument a nice balanced feel in the hands. Mine is currently in the final stages of restoration. Hi Steve - yes it's a lovely box, I'm in the process of tuning it at the moment. But will post a soundclip when finished. I'm planning on using it for singing accompaniment. As you say it's a beautifully balanced box. AL
