I've been playing with some folks lately, Balkan/Klezmer/Gypsy/World tunes. We're just starting to get a repetoire together and play live. Here's a traditional Albanian piece, I'm playing my Wakker Hayden (Wicki) duet concertina, and a tambourine with my foot.

Great performance, Jeff!

I always enjoy your concertina videos. Thanks for including that your Wakker Hayden Duet uses the Wicki layout. I had previously not delved deep enough into concertina knowledge to know about it. The Wicki layout makes more sense to me than the others, and when I eventually decide to branch out into the world of duets, that's the layout I'll get.

Heck, I'd only need to sell plasma 200 times to be able to afford a H-W1! :D

Thanks!

I should be clear though...my concertina has the Hayden slant. I haven't tried one with buttons parallel to the handrest (which Wakker calls "Wicki"), but I'd like to. Kaspar Wicki did not publish any recommendations for ergonomics, he just patented the general layout in 1896.

Hey, that sounds great. Commented at YouTube, where I'm 'geranibelle.'

Interesting, bellows and one end and the saw at the other... leaves safe room for error, I guess! biggrin.gif
