Hi there,

Does anyone have or know where I can find the music for this tune?

Many thanks!

I'm guessing that you mean the tune I know as Winder Slide. If so, there's sheet music here ... but if you play it as written, you won't get the feel of the actual tune (sample played here) even though this sheet music is supposed be based on this recording. If you don't learn easily by ear, your best bet for learning the tune might be to primarily use the recording and to use the sheet music to help you find the notes.

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the links! I did find Rayna's tune and have been picking out the notes. Thanks for the sheet music. Also have been listening to

by Jody Kruskal which I love.

Thanks again,

Ellen

This is pretty close to this one -played by a fiddler at a local session, with lots of double stopping,

... as a very american polka .. (i think it has words too.)

A couple of years back, I recorded these two Old Time musicians, over on holiday here in north Antrim, from the U.S., playing Winder Slide & a few other tunes, in the kitchen of a local curfew Tower ... as you do. :P

Of course, this'd only help you, if you are an ear player. ;)

Interesting though, to see the rather unorthodox style of Clawhammer Banjo playing used here & that very relaxed, two finger grip on the Fiddle Bow.

Cheers,

Dick

Thanks Dick,

What wonderful music!

I have found a couple on YouTube that have helped..I am a beginning player, but this is the style I want to learn.

by Jody Kruskal is great also.

Thanks very much!

Ellen
