Gracie G Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Hello, I've received a request for help from a former curator of the folk instruments section at the National Museum of Musical Instruments in Brussels. There's an exhibition of box instruments scheduled for this venue early next year and he's wanting a couple of good quality photos (colour or B&W) of concertinas and their owners in action for display purposes. I did send him some session photos but these were not suitable as he's after something that focuses more on the instrument and player with no surrounding distractions and at a resolution which will enlarge well for a display board. There's no money in it but you will have your 15 minutes of fame in Belgium if he chooses your photo! If anyone has any suitable shots of themselves and their instruments will you please send them to: hubertboone@hotmail.com Thanking you in advance for your help regarding this request.
CrP Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 That exhibition sounds fascinating. I've been to the Brussels museum and found it fascinating, so I shall make a point of going next year, when I'll be in Europe. Thanks for posting.

I think a cropped version of the cover photo from Alistair Anderson's Alistair Anderson LP would make a wonderful example. Could someone contact him to see if he might share a copy of the original photo?

Apparently requests from the organiser have already been made made to AA and the EFDSS regarding concertina images, with no response from either. This was the reason for launching an appeal through this forum.

A big thank you to those who responded so promptly to this appeal, it is very much appreciated.
