Check out the comments on this auction. Gpanda123 won't reveal the serial number of the concertina he wants us to pay $7000-$8000 for, because the serial number is the property of the owner, whatever that means. Gpanda won't post more pics of the concertina, but doesn't understand why anyone would want to see any. If I were a betting man, I'd bet he doesn't have access to the concertina, and so can't learn the serial number or take any more pics. Also, IMHO his demeanor online veers between nasty and batty. conzertino Posted October 4, 2011 Share Posted October 4, 2011 I have seen this instrument about two years ago at Chris Algar's place. If I remember rightly the extra row is chromatic ( same note push and pull ). It is a unique and fine instrument, but very odd and quite big - more of a collector's item. You definitely want much more information about it or better get a chance to play it before you buy! I forget what Chris was asking - definitely less... I really wonder how much money he's losing to eBay just to list the items? I know there is a charge if no one bids, or if you pull it. He's been doing this for awhile now I hear. In contrast to gpanda's evasiveness about providing more information and pictures about this concertina, Gavin was really helpful and only too pleased to provide several pictures of it and plenty of information about it, for potential buyers, which is nice. Gpanda has now pulled the concertina from sale on Ebay, I have discovered. He does seem like a strange person to do business with, given this episode and other episodes reported in the is forum regarding previous instruments that he has had for sale and his attitude towards potential bidders. Is he hoping that by setting himself up prominently as a high value dealer people will offer him that Jeffries they found in the attic? Is he really Paul or Ken drumming up interest when Cnet goes quiet... Are there any money making opportunities in apparently selling a high value item yet not selling it?
