Dan A
Hello again! I've just been listening to Lucy Farr's beautiful fiddle recordings, and realized quite suddenly that I haven't the slightest idea of who the concertina player is, playing on a few choice tracks. I've googled around to try and find out some more, but nobody seems to flat-out state who it might be. Any notions? --Dan
Roger Digby
Heart and Home was recorded after Lucy left London to live nearer family in the Basinstoke area and it was organised by Roly Brown. As Roly is a concertina player it's a fair guess that it will be him playing. Only a guess though. Best wishes, Roger
Peter Laban
Roly Browne's article on Lucy Farr, at Musical Traditionas My first reaction was to think of Tommy MCarthy but I have no way of telling, I never got hold of the recording. Dan A
Ah, okay. I've never actually heard Browne's name before, although a quick google search suggests I've read his writing a few times, including that great article on Lucy herself. Thanks very much guys! Now I'm just curious as to whether he's been recorded elsewhere, or whether there's writing on him as well. --Dan
