Kautilya
as usual Leo, a very st/c/unning selection! The ulla Live in Gauche are an example of some fascinating playing from Japan Akio8585's Farewell to Glasgow is another example on the finger-killingly difficult to play low D Overton. http://www.youtube.com/user/akio8585#p/u/10/LJ0XCs7fvBo great vibrato from that 6-week(!) learner - and a Chinese box too! Uncle P's walz even more vibrato (must try to emulate) though I worry about the sheep in the middle of the video,or rather someone in the middle of the sheep! Tku Leo! Steve Mansfield
Akio8585's Farewell to Glasgow is another example on the finger-killingly difficult to play low D Overton. http://www.youtube.c.../10/LJ0XCs7fvBo Yeah, he's a really good whistle player, it's a real shame that the picture is out of sync with the sound on that one - very disconcerting as he does some nice cuts and turns without actually moving the fingers at the right moment I appreciate this really isn't the forum to start discussing low whistles for smaller hands, but I was reading just the other day about Phil Hardy's Kerry Optima whistle, deliberately designed with the smaller hand in mind. Not had a chance to try one myself (but then again I have no trouble with the stretch on my beloved Overton), but they're getting well excited about them over on Chiff and Fipple. We now return you to your regular programming ...

Our regular squeeze & scrape programmes have whistles leading and playing along all the time, so any aspiring concertina players does well to know about them in order to extend enrich their reportoire, particularly for toons written originally for whistle/flute. :) Edited July 31, 2011 by Kautilya
