Chris Timson Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Here's a piece I recorded earlier today in the Michael Tippett Centre, Bath Spa University. It's a composition by Anne called Midnight for English concertina with piano. Anne plays the concertina while the piano is played by her fellow student Alfie Pugh. Click here ... Chris

Chris Timson Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks. Here's a photo to go with the recording:-
RAc Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Very lovely composition, and played very beautifully. Reminded me what I love about the concertina sound and what to strive for. Thanks for sharing! The only comment I have is about the title, to me it doesn't match the piece's mood. But there is really nothing nothing else to gripe about, so I had to resort to that pathetic piece of criticism... ;-)

But there is really nothing nothing else to gripe about, so I had to resort to that pathetic piece of criticism... ;-) I guess that would depend on what your idea of midnight is ( at a party on New years Eve or just about to arrive in dreamland with a soft breeze wafting through the bedroom window and moonbeams casting gentle shadows on the walls) . For me it works well, just the right amount of melancolic peacfullness. I hope you do very well with your studies Anne, and good luck. Geoff. Edited June 17, 2011 by Geoff Wooff
