The boldface lowercase "i" in the original post had no meaning for me. As an American living in Denmark, I'm not familiar with The Independent. And if that column/article is typical, I have no inclination to get to know it better. The 'i' is a cut down, less expensive, version of the English 'Independent' newpaper. This article perhaps demonstrates what you get when you take the 'dependent' out of the 'Independent'! Resistance is futile! Resistance is not futile. Resistance is Voltage divided by Current.
