malcolmbebb Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Hi, Can anyone suggest a method of cleaning up bone buttons on a Lachenal, without using nasty chemicals of risking damage? Some grime appears ingrained and won't come off with just wiping.
OLDNICKILBY Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Next time you are in Aldi buy yourself an Ultra-Sonic Cleaner for about £15 add a few drops of Ammonia and Hey Presto . Ultra clean buttons
Stephen Chambers Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Next time you are in Aldi buy yourself an Ultra-Sonic Cleaner ... Next time (once a year) that Aldi have them in stock... (It's where I got mine, but that was a few years ago.)
Guest HallelujahAl! Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 Take off the lever arms, remove the button felts and then soak them in a basin of warm soapy water, rinse and scrub. If still not content then replace the water with a dilute (very) amount of domestos again in warm soapy water and allow to soak for about 30 mins. This should bring them up all nice and sparkly You'll need to replace the button-hole felt bushings, but that's nae problem. AL Next time you are in Aldi buy yourself an Ultra-Sonic Cleaner ...
