malcolm clapp Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 (edited) Check out this eBay sale. A must for contortionists! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...3734319483&rd=1[/url] I think the description "You won't find another like it!" is so appropriate... Or maybe not... On a serious note, I have a friend with arthritis who no longer plays because of the angle of her left wrist, caused by the disease. I wonder if something like this would work for her? Obviously turn the reed pan 60 degrees as well and move the endbolts back one. Probably need to reset the reed pan supports and maybe replace the bellows frame gasket.... Anyone tried this before? Regards Malcolm (this has crept into the wrong forum now...) Edited July 5, 2004 by malcolm clapp
JimLucas Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 Check out this eBay sale. Makes me think of an instrument I saw in the early 1970's: Brand-new Boosey & Hawkes-era Wheastone 20-button anglo. The trouble was that some buttons didn't play at all, and some played multiple notes. The shopkeeper said that if it were in playing condition he would be asking twice as much for it, but he wouldn't let me open it up to look inside. Since I was really looking for an English, I tried to tell him what I thought the problem was, but he didn't want to listen. He was adamant that he did "not want to mess around with repairs". So I went away, and called a few friends until I found one who was interested in such an instrument at that price. I went back the next day and bought it, took off the ends, rotated each 1/6 turn before putting them back on, and voila!... a perfectly functioning instrument!
