Gary Chapin Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Friends of mine organize this twice yearly event in Alsace. http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/03/what-are-they-playing-in-alsace-this.html Although melodeon-centric, all instruments are welcome, and it's a great little tune book. I won't be able to attend, but I'm proposing a holiday in exile on May 29.
Steve Mansfield Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Great tunebooks! Another event to add top the wish list ...
Gary Chapin Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 So, I'm serious! http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/05/pour-les-absents.html On May 29, get out there and find a picnic and play a pique-diatonique tune! What? You have something better to do? It's a great tune book.
AnnC Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Thanks for the link to the tune book, hours of music there
Gary Chapin Posted May 28, 2011 Author Posted May 28, 2011 Since tomorrow -- May 29 -- is International Pique-diatonique Day (at least in le maison de la Chapins), I've posted some recordings of tunes from the Pique-diatonique tunebook on my blog. Two of the recordings are by Sylvain Piron. The third is by me. http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/05/pique-diatonique-tomorrow.html Actual Pique-diatonique info can be found at http://bretelle.tradfrance.com/ Thanks for indulging my obsession.
Gary Chapin Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 Photos from the event are at http://accordeonaire.blogspot.com/2011/05/photos-from-alsace.html.
Geoff Wooff Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 (edited) Yes, thanks for these links Gary. We actually had a few tunes with José Roux and Paul Grollier the weekend before last, at our local Bal. It was a fine end to a pleasant evening. Paul comes all the way from Angouleme each week to teach our local Diato players and what an asset he is to them! best regards, Geoff. Gary Chapin Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 You are most welcome. I love Jose Roux's playing, and he's got a very interesting blog of his own, though he hasn't posted in a while. That's at http://joseroux.over-blog.com/ Because of illness I was not able to make as much out of this weekend as I had planned. Still, having a good time with this tune book.
