James Hadwen

I have a baritone Aeola (made in 1913) that I acquired about a year or so ago, and written inside are some bits of provenance.

The previous owner has written the name James Hadwen and an address in Sheffield, and then an address in Barnsley.

Presumably James Hadwen was the owner/player of this instrument.

 

Does anyone know anything about this concertina player?

Hi Steve,

I can only report that the name Hadwen doesn't appear in any of the ICA related stuff, so post WW2. I have one Hadwen reference, but this is a female witness to a 1911 Childey marriage (one of Rock's grandaughters) in Wolverhampton.
