yfried
Has anyone on the forum used the following Score management systems? Forscoreapp for iPad or MusicReader? http://www.forscoreapp.com/ http://www.musicreader.net/ Has anyone used the Footime Page Turner from Bili Inc? http://www.bilila.com/page_turner__ipad There was a recent article in the New York Times about the Borromeo String Quartet and the use of these types of products. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/16/arts/music/16string.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=borreo%20quartet&st=cse If you have used them, any pros or cons about their use? Larry Stout
This looks like an argument for getting an iPad. I wonder if there is size control for the score (like the change of font size I find so useful on my Kindle). I now use abc2mtex and abcm2ps to produce scores in large print (as pdf's) for the band I play with for ECD, particularly if I've written out multiple parts. Getting the line breaks where I want them helps a lot in finding repeats. The NYT article was interesting too.

I've put some tunes as sheet music in pdf form on my Kindle. works well as a crib especially in landscape mode. With pdf's you can't change the font size though - and the zoom isn't really useful. I haven't tried seeing if you can transform into "native kindle" documents - I don't think the fonts are available on the Kindle. (you can also store an mp3 to go with the dots. It looks as though it'll be useful for storing short trad tunes, rather than the tatty heap of paper scraps that I usually end up with. ocd
With the IPad one can change the zoom of PDF documents. Including music scores. ocd
John Wild
With the IPad one can change the zoom of PDF documents. Including music scores. ocd You can change the zoom on the Kindle up to 300% - but you then have to navigate around the sections, which is the bit I find inconvenient. - John Wild PS I've been reading more books since I got it. I wish it could have the same effect on my music!
